The core of the music for the MAGAZINE album was recorded on cassette in summer 2007. Those raw recordings were unearthed and completed with lyrics/vocals in late 2018 and early 2019, resulting in this lo-fi punk rock masterpiece.Recommended for fans of early Damned, early Misfits, early Vandals, and The Germs.
(NOTE: The gun imagery on the album cover is in support of the 1st and 2nd Amendment Rights, is a reference to the title track “Magazine” (and its double-entendre referring to weaponized media strategies/tactics and the need for the people to defend against it and to have their own media while boycotting theirs). It is also used to point out the ridiculousness of people’s very reactions that “triggers” them. That it has “MAGA” in the word is a happy coincidence that makes it even better. Additionally, the first Vandals EP and The Damned’s Machine Gun Etiquette were influential for this album. It is a near perfect album cover… Don’t you agree?
